Decided to share some locations with you guys! so stay tuned for some others coming.
but this post is all about Barrier Lake, in Kananaskis Alberta. it's about an hour from Calgary and 1hour 16minutes from Crossfield. There is numerous trails including a pathway that is stroller friendly for those with young kiddos and beautiful teal waters surrounded by mountains! what more could ya want? Barrier Lake is a man made reservoir at the north end of Kananaskis Country in Alberta, Canada. Highway 40 runs between the lake and Mount Baldy, on the eastern shore. It is entirely located in the Bow Valley Provincial Park. Barrier Lake was created for hydroelectric power generation on the Kananaskis River. ![]() Last weekend I had the privilege of heading out to Grassi Lakes in Canmore, AB with my beautiful friend Tanya, to check out all the teal lakes of course! ( Soo gorgeous } if you haven't been it's definitely worth a trip to see, it offers different levels of hiking trails for all levels of adventurers and you really can't go wrong with the views! Here's a link with more information on Grassi Lakes with directions :) https://www.explorecanmore.ca/listings/grassi-lakes-trail/ Recently had the privilege of checking out Chamber's Farm and have to say it is by far one of the best family friendly places we have checked out so far! there is so many different farm animals including Yaks + Emu's to check out as well as lots of cute little babies!
if you are ever in the Fort St John / Baldonnel British Columbia area be sure to go check them out. They even offer sleigh and wagon rides, popcorn, drinks and other assorted snacks, you can feed the animals + the best part is it is family operated and owned so if you visit you are supporting a pretty amazing local family. Check them out on Facebook at Chambers Horse Drawn Sleigh and Carriage Rides |
